Fort lauderdale is known as the 'Venice of America' because of our canals and waterways. But what you might not know... Fort Lauderdale civil rights pioneers fought segregation by wading into the water? In 1961, civil rights activists including Eula Mae Gandy Johnson, dubbed the “Rosa Parks of Fort Lauderdale,” and Dr. Von D. Mizell staged public “wade‑ins” at the formerly whites-only beaches in Broward County. Facing legal threats and even being sued by the city as public nuisances, their brave action led to a historic outcome: Broward beaches were desegregated in 1962. These peaceful, persistent protests contrasted sharply with others of the era—they weren’t violent or chaotic, they were simply about ordinary people and families lowering the tide of injustice on their home beaches. Head out to Whiskey Creek at Eula Johnson State Park and you will see the historic signage commemorating the beaches areas that were recognized as this embarrassing time of our history. Quote Of The Week“The Best Math You Can Learn, Is How To Calculate The Future Cost of Current Decisions” ~ Unknown Flotsam & JetsamThe 10 Traits That Require Zero Talent (But Unlock Maximum Potential)Every studio has its rockstars. But here’s a truth bomb: it’s rarely raw talent that makes them stand out. It’s their mindset. Their choices. The things they do every day—quietly, consistently—that stack up into greatness. Here are 10 behaviors that require zero talent, yet are often the true separator between the average and the exceptional: 1. Being on TimePunctuality isn’t about the clock—it’s about respect. For others. For your commitments. For your future self. 2. Making an EffortEffort is free. It costs nothing to try hard, but it signals everything: that you care, that you’re all in, that you’re willing to sweat for something meaningful. 3. Being High EnergyNo one wants to follow someone who drags their feet. Enthusiasm is contagious. Choose to be a spark in the room. 4. Having a Positive AttitudeThis doesn’t mean toxic optimism. It means believing challenges can be overcome. It means focusing on what’s possible—not what’s broken. 5. Being PassionateYou don’t have to love everything, but find something you can throw your heart into. Passion creates momentum. 6. Using Good Body LanguageEyes up. Shoulders back. Stand like someone who believes they belong—because they do. Presence starts with posture. 7. Being TeachableTalent says, “I’ve got this.” Teachability says, “I can get better.” One plateaus. The other climbs. 8. Doing a Little ExtraGo beyond the minimum. One more rep. One more kind word. That extra 5%? That’s where the magic happens. 9. Being PreparedPreparation signals professionalism. It tells the world, “I’m serious.” It also gives you an edge over 90% of people who are just winging it. 10. Having a Strong Work EthicGrit beats gift every time. Show up. Stay late. Do the work—especially when it’s hard. ### Would You Stand Out in a Room of 100 People? No quizzes, no filters—just a quick look at 10 habits anyone can choose, but few actually do. Think of it like walking into a room of strangers: who’s early? Who’s leaning in? Who’s quietly raising the bar just by showing up right? This isn’t about ego—it’s about awareness. Most people underestimate these traits. You might too… until you realize they’re the real difference-makers. See how you measure up—no judgment, just insight. Final Thought:We live in a world that idolizes talent. But these 10 things? They’re available to everyone. They can be trained. They can be chosen. And stacked together, they form the foundation of greatness. So here’s the challenge: Pick one today. Live it loud. Then pick another tomorrow. That’s how heroes are built.
